Every "free" file converter online has a catch — forced sign-ups, watermarks on output, aggressive daily limits, or suspicious software downloads. We built FileConvertTool to solve this. Genuinely free, no registration, no watermarks, no tracking. Just upload, convert, download.
What started as a simple image converter has grown into a comprehensive platform supporting 30+ file formats across images, video-to-audio extraction, audio conversion, SVG tracing, and image compression.
Built by a Developer, for Everyone
FileConvertTool was created by a web developer passionate about building useful, privacy-first tools. With experience in FFmpeg, Python, and modern web development, the goal was simple: create a file converter that actually works without the usual catches.
The project is independently built and maintained — no venture capital, no corporate interests. Just a tool that does what it says.
Our Technology
FileConvertTool uses the same conversion engines trusted by industry leaders:
FFmpeg — The audio and video processing engine used by YouTube, Spotify, and VLC. Handles all video-to-audio extraction and audio format conversion.
Pillow + pillow-heif — Python imaging library for image conversion, including HEIC and AVIF support for iPhone photos.
vtracer — Full-colour vector tracing engine for converting raster images to scalable SVG.
CairoSVG — High-quality SVG-to-raster rendering at any resolution.
Cloudflare Pages — Frontend served from a global CDN for fast page loads in 50+ countries.
Files are encrypted during transfer via HTTPS, processed in isolated server environments, and automatically deleted after conversion. We never store, access, or share your files.
